While researching eating disorder treatment options for a friend of mine, I realized that the woman who took the Kid’s one-year pictures died last month. She committed suicide after a long struggle with anorexia. This woman was strikingly beautiful, witty and such an amazing photographer. She had a way with the Kid, as is evidenced [...]

A rainy Saturday.
We dropped the Kid at his grandmas, went to lunch, and now I’m sitting at home drinking hot chocolate, answering email and watching What Not to Wear. All hail no responsibilities!
Experiment over.
For the first five days of the POP I was fine. After that, however, I started having troubles which have only continued to worsen: 1. Bloating (not a little…like I’m actually pregnant) 2. Fatigue (my eyes are having trouble staying open) 3. Insomnia (which is odd, because in the first few days, the POP actually [...]
Dis-ordered eating.

I think that being around me not only brings out her eating issues, but actually makes them worse, because she feels some kind of competition regarding staying thin. Unfortunately there was no hunting of eggs, because it was too cold outside, but the Kid didn’t seem to mind. Of course he has no reference with which to mind, but whatever. I went to the [...]
Sunshiney.
That’s really the only word I can use to describe yesterday. I took the Kid to the Aquarium. He had an amazing time…more so than usual. He talked about it all day long and again today. There was a little girl there, probably about three years old, and he heard her say to her mom, [...]
Alone time.
An early evening, sitting in bed after a warm shower and half of Canterbury’s Law, thinking it might be a little early to attempt sleep, but loving the solitude. Today was St. Patrick’s Day, which meant very little to me except that MTV became watchable due to their playing a mix of old and new [...]
