Lost and Wicked by Gregory Maguire.  Two very different books.  Both tough to get through, but I felt rewarded by the end. The Reader by Bernhard Schlink. Cool observation.

Last night The Kid and I were sitting outside (in the weirdly-balmy winter night) and saw a Red-tailed Hawk catch and eat a bat.  I didn’t know they ate bats, but apparently they do!  Very cool!
