Update.

Okay, so the old epilogue is now chapter thirty-one, and I added a true epilogue (“four months later…”).  Now I just have to fill in the other chapter…

Update.

Chapter thirty is complete.  268 pages and 53,500 words. I’m not sure if the last chapter is going to be an actual chapter or an epilogue.  It takes place a few months later, which technically makes it an epilogue, but it’s in the same style as the book.  The real headscratcher is that book wouldn’t [...]

Make that chapter twenty-nine complete, too.  256 pages and 52,200 words.  Gods, that was a difficult chapter to write.  I am VERY glad it’s done.  Now one last chapter to finish, then the epilogue.  Holy crap I can’t believe I made it this far =o

Finished chapter twenty-eight.  51,400 words and 253 pages.  Looks like another two chapters, plus an epilogue, then I’m done with the first draft.  This chapter’s been hard to write because all the action takes place while the narrator is trapped inside a closet.  But I think I got it to the point where it makes [...]

Update.

Slow day because we went to the Aquarium this morning, and I’m tired, but I finished chapter twenty-six. + 1,000 words.  Most of chapter twenty-seven is outlined, and there’s only two or three more chapters total before the first draft is finished.  After that I’m taking two days off to lose myself in an old-school [...]
